Frequently Asked Questions

Please call or text us at (704) 703-2722 if you cannot find an answer to your question or need anything else.

  • Our headquarters are in Charlotte, NC, however, we do not have a physical store location. All orders are processed online 24/7, or by phone Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm.
  • To place an order simply fill out the free estimate form and we will reach out to you.

  1. We help you design the right metal building for your needs.
  2. A down payment is collected, and the order is submitted.
  3. Our processing department will double check any customization needs, verify pricing, and reach out to you to confirm the order and review site preparation needs.
  4. Our scheduling department will do a final order verification and set up your unit delivery and installation times. We don’t provide a specific arrival time due to possible traffic or weather conditions that could delay the crew, but you will receive a window of time to expect our installation team.
  5. When the order is completely finalized, it is sent to our nearest manufacturing facility where our team builds the paneling and frame and gathers the necessary materials.
  6. Once the materials are ready, a certified installation subcontractor will deliver and install the building on you lot.

  • Because we have six manufacturing locations across the United States, we offer faster delivery times than many other metal building companies.
  • Many of our steel structures are delivered between 8 to 10 weeks weather permitting, though customers in remote locations require longer lead times.
  • This is a best estimate as lead times can and will change due to external factors and volume of sales.
  • Please call (704) 703-2722 or email greatcarports@gmail.com for our latest lead times and accurate estimates.
  • If your site is prepared, level, and you can accept immediate delivery, please note this on your order.
  • Our team will send you an automated call within two business days of placing your order. If you have not received a call within two business days, please call or email us.

We offer FREE shipping, delivery and installation on all metal buildings and steel structures.

  • Our installation sub-contractors drive a truck pulling a 30-36 foot trailer, which means maneuvering into small, narrow, or steep driveways may not be possible.
  • Our scheduling department will discuss payment upon delivery and any additional fees you may accrue due to an unprepared lot or one that is not level.
  • The installation crew will confirm the order with you, then get work installing it.
  • Depending on the steel structure, installation takes between one hour to two days.
  • Please have the payment ready prior to the crew arriving.

Use this checklist to prepare for your installation.

  1. Mark any utility lines running underneath planned installation site. If you do not know the exact location of any water, gas, or electric lines please call 811 to have them come out and mark the lines free of charge.
  2. Prepare level lot: move earth if necessary to create a level installation surface. Sites must not be more than three inches off level to avoid any cut leg fees or other additional labor/ return trip fees.
  3. The installation of buildings upon concrete retaining walls or on shipping containers will be addressed on a case by case basis. Please call our corporate headquarters at (704) 703-2722 for more information.
  4. All concrete pads are required to be at least 2” wider on all sides of the frame. For example: for a building that has a frame measuring 20′ x 30′, the concrete pad should measure 20’4” x 30’4”.
  5. Clear any and all obstacles in and around the installation site such as cars, recreational vehicles, and debris to avoid a build over fee. Additional labor fees can be found on pricing sheets underneath additional options.
  6. Installation crews need a minimum of 36” all around the building to fasten any wall paneling, end wall framing, and trim.
  7. Have payment ready before installation crew arrives. We accept money orders and cashier’s checks, along with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
  8. Small units can be complete in less than an hour and often have multiple appointments in a day.
  9. Any safety requirements must be disclosed to upon purchase of unit. Great Carports must be aware of any safety training or safety classes/videos our installation contractors must complete prior to installation.
  10. Site preparation is crucial to ensuring a smooth installation. Failure to adequately prepare your site could result in additional labor charges or even a return trip fee which is either $150 USD or %5 of the building price whichever is higher.

  • A garage is a structure used for storing vehicles. It is typically attached to a house and has a door that can be opened and closed to allow vehicles to enter and exit. Garages can also be used for storage and as a workspace.
